Here’s the good news. You don’t need to take all the fancy gadgets and appliances along with you for making coffee while you’re away camping.

Although you have the option of portable coffee makers, but if you think its too much, there are always plenty of other options.

There are many ways you can have a cup of coffee in the open. There are just a few things you need to have with you, and you’re all set to go.

1: Instant Coffee

This can be perhaps the best and most ideal way to have coffee at camp. However, many people are not fond of the taste. As easily as it may be to pack, coffee lovers still need a good tasting coffee. The instant coffee just doesn’t qualify here.

Lucky for us, many innovations have also been made in this area to make instant coffee better. Over the past few years, the instant coffee has come leaps and bounds and is now somehow a good option for camping.

It doesn’t need much appliances. The packs itself are small and suitable for traveling. The coffee doesn’t take much time to prepare. Still a good option when you look at all these factors.

However, if you still need to know. The idea is to pour hot, boiling water in a cup that contains the instant coffee grounds. After a minute, stir well and your instant coffee is all good to go.

2: Coffee Beans In A Bag

You’ve all heard about, seen and used tea bags, but how about a coffee bag? Well, as much as it sounds new to you as well as us, this is so real. You now have the option of coffee in a bag with a number of flavors.

This is another ideal option for campers and backpackers. Its lightweight, it doesn’t have any messy grounds you need to clean, its quick and it give you the tasteful flavor of coffee you might be looking for.

We know, we know! Any coffee purist would not be much impressed by the idea, however, take what you can get. You still get to have some coffee.

Just pour boiling water on the coffee bag that you’ve placed in a mug. Let the coffee bag release its flavor. Stir and drink.

3: Cowboy Method

Looking for the simplest way to make coffee? Well, there’s none easier than the cowboy method.

There aren’t many things you’ll need to prepare the coffee. The method is simple and quick. Nothing can go wrong here.

That said, there might a be little cleaning required later on because the coffee grounds won’t completely dissolve in the water.

How To Prepare:

Place a pot on the charcoal with water. Once it comes to boil, add coffee grounds to it.

This is one of the ways to do it. We can share more if you’d like. There’s even one with an entire addition of raw egg, but let’s just stick to the more conventional ways people can actually enjoy.

You can make cowboy coffee the clean way. Just place a clean cloth on the cup, put coffee beans in it and then pour over the hot boiling water.

You can also bring water to boil in a pot. Once it starts boiling, remove for a while to add the coffee grounds. Put the pot back on low flame. Let it simmer for a while. Now with the help of a spoon, scoop out the coffee grounds.

4: Pour-Overs For Single Serving

There are many pouches available in the market for single serves of coffee. Another easy and quick way to make coffee for campers.

However, these pour-overs are designed for campers in specific. The idea is to keep is simple, fairly quick without any mess.

Each packet contains a paper frame and a pouch. The pouch is filled with grounds of coffee.

You need to expand the frame and place it on a mug. Pour boiling water on the pouch. Remove the pouch and have a coffee that will ideally taste better.

5: Pour-Over Stands

When you go to any coffee shop, you will find these stands. Typically, the made of these pour-over stands is ceramic. Yet you can find plenty compact sized stands that are really lightweight and ideal for camping.

How To Prepare:

Use a cloth or coffee filter to be placed on top of the cup. Fill the cloth or filter with coffee grounds.

Heat up water in a kettle – the most ideal of utensils to be used. When the water is near to boil, pour over the stand containing the coffee grounds. Do it in circular motions.

You have a cup of coffee all good to go.

6: French Press

A French Press is yet another great option for coffee lovers. Its compact and lightweight; easy to carry around for camping.

Here’s when it gets better. The French Press these days are designed keeping in mind the rugged tumbling life of camping. For keeping the appliance safe, they are designed to be durable.

While many campers enjoy French Press, the one letdown is it uses slightly more coffee grounds than usual.

How To Prepare:

Add coffee grounds to the container and pour boiling water over. Make sure the grounds are soaked well enough. Let the grounds sit there.

Once done, you can add boiling water till the container is full. Now press with the plunger after stirring well.
